Imagine looking up at the ridge above Archbald and seeing 14 massive industrial buildings where there used to be forest. That's what's being proposed — a 570-acre data center campus called Wildcat Ridge, and it would permanently change the mountain landscape that defines our community.
The developers are using a newly created zoning 'overlay' to work around the original purpose of Resource Conservation and Residential zoning. Land that was never meant to hold heavy industry.
What it would bring instead: 14 two-story industrial structures, a 1,600 MW power infrastructure, the clear-cutting of 200 acres of wooded forest, a 13.6% increase in local traffic, and the consumption of up to 3.3 million gallons of water every single day.
We're not against progress. But we believe our community deserves an honest conversation about what we're actually being asked to trade away and whether the promise of tax revenue is worth the permanent industrial transformation of the ridges above our homes.
